A free self drive Art Tour of Artists Studios, art for sale, music & associated art events around Mercury Bay on the East Coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. This bi-annual Coromandel art event is over two long weekends in February & March. Artists include painters, sculptors, jewellers, printmakers & ceramicists. The next Art Escape event is the Taste of the Tour Exhibition, 10 March-10 April 2012, followed by the Open Studio Tour in 2013.

The Whangamata Beachhop is a five day festival celebrating the 50's & 60's rock'n'roll era. Held annually in March on the Coromandel Peninsula, the programme includes classic car & hot rod parades, bands & music, competitions, fashion shows & many other events.

Whitianga Scallop Festival 15 September 2012
